Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

AskCher AI (“AskCher,” “we,” “us”) is an AI tutoring service based in Singapore. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in compliance with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (“PDPA”).

2. Data we collect

• Account data: Email address and name provided via Google sign-in.
• Profile data: Academic level, school, and subjects you choose to provide.
• Chat data: Questions and messages you send, and the AI-generated responses.
• Usage data: Daily question counts, feedback ratings, and session identifiers used to enforce usage limits.
• Image data: Photos of questions you upload are processed to generate responses and are not stored permanently.
• Payment data: Billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details.

3. How we use your data

• To provide and improve the tutoring service.
• To personalise AI responses based on your academic profile.
• To enforce daily usage limits and billing.
• To communicate important service updates or respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Third-party processors

Your data may be processed by the following third-party services:

• Anthropic — AI model provider. Chat messages are sent to Anthropic’s API to generate responses.
• Supabase — Database and authentication provider. Stores your account and chat data.
• Stripe — Payment processor. Handles subscription billing securely.
• Vercel — Hosting provider. Serves the application.

5. Data retention

Chat history is retained for as long as your account is active to enable you to review past conversations. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see section 7 below). Anonymous usage data (from non-logged-in users) is associated with a session ID and retained for up to 30 days.

6. Data security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (TLS), secure authentication via OAuth 2.0, and database-level access controls. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your rights under the PDPA

Under Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
• Withdraw consent for us to collect, use, or disclose your personal data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.

8. Children’s privacy

AskCher is designed for students aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice within the app. Continued use of AskCher after changes constitutes acceptance.
